Meant For Her
Raine Thomas
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Photographer Sierra Stratton views the world through a lens all her own. She has an uncanny sense about people, something that often causes her trouble. When she meets the sexy and brooding Evan Dorsey, her intuition tells her he’s suffering, and she wants to be the one to help him.
Evan isn’t open to help from anyone, however. His focus is on his Major League career and making himself as marketable as possible for his upcoming free agency. He plans to ride out the season in Atlanta and then sign with another team, away from the painful memories that haunt him.
Someone’s eager to send him on his way, too. Between anonymous threats and equipment sabotage, it’s clear he’s earned himself an enemy along the way. To him, it’s one more sign that he’s right to move on. But Sierra threatens his conviction. Her contagious smile proves hard to resist, as does her kiss. She tempts him in ways he never anticipated, making him question his plans for the first time. If he’s not careful, she might just convince him that he’s meant for her.

Raine Thomas is the award-winning author of bestselling Young Adult and New Adult fiction. Known for character-driven stories that inspire the imagination, Raine recently signed with multiple award-winning producer Chase Chenowith of Back Fence Productions to bring her popular Daughters of Saraqael trilogy to the big screen. She's a proud indie author who is living the dream.
Raine is a hopeless romantic with a background in the fields of mental health and wedding planning...two areas that intersect far more than one would think. Her years working with children and young adults with emotional and behavioral challenges inspired her to create protagonists who overcome their own conflicts. When she isn't writing or glued to e-mail or social networking sites, Raine can usually be found vacationing with her husband and daughter on one of Florida's beautiful beaches or crossing the border to visit with her Canadian friends and relatives.

My first book from Raine Thomas, and I loved it. Really did. Once I got caught in the story of Evan and Sierra (love this name), couldn't stop until I know if she was going to make him fall in love with her.
Evan Dorsey is a man who as his emotions locked away by the pain of losing his mother. He's a baseball player coming to play on the Atlanta team, his hometown, and it's in Atlanta that he is going to find that we can not hide love away, or friendship. Deep down inside, Evan is a caring man, full of love to give. In Cole's wedding is the first time that he caught a glimpse of Sierra. She came to him in such a natural way that it was hard for him to take her out of his head for many, many days, until he meets her again, in Atlanta, as his neighbour. Cool! He's the proud owner of two dogs: Beck and Miller. And guess what? She's the proud owner or Leo, also a dog. She was really determined on make him convinced the he really was meant for her. With a lot of patience, she makes her way through Evan's wounded heart, helping him how to heal emotionally. Sierra is a very intuitive woman, and the minute she lays eyes on Evan Dorsey she knew he really was made for her. In love since the firts minute she saw him, she'll wait for him to be prepared on receiving love on his heart.
But, it will not be that easy. After transfering to Atlanta to play baseball for the Braves, Evan starts receiving threatening messages. Someone wants him to leave, and if extreme measures are needed, that same person is willing to take the risk. It's only when Sierra is involved in this plot that Evan is aware of how much he really is meant for her. How much he needs her in his life and he faces losing everything he wasn't willing to admit he wanted.
Despite I love Sierra, because of his strenght and lightness (and because she loves animals), Evan is my favourite character on this book. He's Australian. With a sexy accent. Love Australian accent. And he's wonderfull. He loved her mother so much that he was willing to erase all feelings just to not suffer the same pain again. But, bit by bit, he will be no longer that sore and lonely. His cold heart soon will be heated by Sierra's internal sun and the funny thing is that he really got caught without realizing it. Sierra is that sunny and enlighted. Love her, and love her with him. They make a wonderfull match and I guess that they will be just fine in the future to come.
Guess now I really have to read Everly and Cole's story :D
